Operation of the Out of School and Holiday Clubs

As you may be aware, a number of experienced and qualified Out of School and Holiday Club staff have left the leisure centre over the past 12 months including the club co-ordinator.

Ofsted Requirements

To comply with the requirements stipulated by the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted), both clubs must have appropriately qualified staff and a person to act as the designated person or lead practitioner for the club.

Unfortunately, until such time as these posts can be filled with appropriately qualified staff who will enable us to meet these requirements, the Out of School Club and School Holiday Clubs will cease operation from Friday 16 December 2016.

Please accept out apologies for any inconvenience this situation may cause.

Consult with you

Before embarking on the process of recruiting new staff, we would like to consult with customers over the future of the Out of School and School Holiday Clubs. Increasing levels of provision elsewhere within the Driffield catchment area offering greater choice to parents has led to a reduction in the number of children attending both clubs over the past few years.

Consequently, we would welcome your views as to whether the provision of the Out of School and School Holiday Clubs are still required at the centre or how this service could be better provided.

Please submit your views, in writing or via the form below by 6 January 2016.
