East Riding Leisure Goole offers discounted swimming sessions for the over 60s. 

Days and Times

Sessions take place Monday to Friday between 8am-10am and 12 noon - 1pm.




There are some specific benefits of physical activity generally and swimming in particular for the over-60s:

A growing body of evidence suggests that diseases and conditions, which are the primary cause of loss of function and independence in later life, are preventable. Physical activity can play an important part in this.

Preventative effects arising from regular physical activity in older age are at least as strong as those found in middle age for all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

Exercise programmes, particularly strength training, have been shown to be highly effective in reducing the subsequent incidence of falls in older people.
