Ninja Tag and soft play installation underway.

The frames for the Ninja Tag and soft play areas are now being fitted, transforming this part of the building and giving a real sense of scale to this exciting new offer at East Riding Leisure Goole.

Bowling alley complete. Following on from last month's update, the bowling alley is now installed and awaiting the final touches to lighting and ceilings.

New flooring around the swimming pool. Work in the main swimming pool area is progressing, and teams have been on site this week to install the new resin flooring in this area.

The group exercise space will provide a spacious area for users. Some of the biggest improvements recently have been made in the gym and group exercise spaces. These are now nearing completion. The new gym space will be light, modern and spacious.

Changing village progress: the finishing touches are now being made to the changing village, with the false ceilings, lighting and showers being installed.

As work on the site nears completion, some members of the ERL Goole team have paid a visit to get a feel for what the centre will look like when it is finished. Along with Senior Facility Manager Leon Sheldon, they went along to look at the transformation, and the feedback from the team was incredibly positive. The team are really excited to welcome customers to the new centre.

A landmark moment has been achieved in the last two weeks, as the bowling alley has now been installed. A specialist team from Hungary came to site to install all of the equipment and has transformed the space in a matter of days to a fully working six lane bowling alley.

Much of the mechanical and electrical work is now fully installed across the site, meaning that installation can now begin on the suspended ceilings. The mechanical and electrical work is almost complete throughout the site.

Major strides forward have been made in the changing village. With the mechanical and electrical installation work nearing completion, this has allowed the tiling and fitting of panels to take place in areas such as the toilets and showers.

The learner pool is nearing completion as the finishing touches are being made to the tiling. The filtration system has been installed in the plant room behind the pool and is due to be commissioned later this month.

Work on the new kitchen is progressing incredibly well. The mechanical and electrical work is on track, along with the ducting installation and the panelling has been fitted.

One of the biggest milestones of the whole redevelopment project has seen mains power connected to the whole building. Working alongside Northern Powergrid, the team will now be able to commission and connect many of the major systems to the mains power in the coming weeks. The building is now connected to mains power.

The ducting is now connected to the air handling units on the roof and is in the process of being connected throughout the building.

The mechanical and electrical work is progressing well as teams work to connect all of the intricate wiring and pipework across the site.

The most visually striking development this month is in the new atrium area. The crash deck has now been removed, and this change has revealed a glimpse of how this new area will add a huge amount of natural light to the finished building, providing a light and airy space for visitors.

The area that has seen the most significant steps forward is the changing village.

Since the last update, the ducting has been installed, the mechanical and electrical elements are being added, and the tile work is well underway, giving an idea of how the finished changing village will look.

The learner pool is starting to take shape as teams continue to install the tiling. 

The new bowling alley is also progressing well, with large amounts of the ducting and the mechanical and electrical works being installed, and the plastering is complete.

Finally, the most visible progress can be seen on the exterior of the building.

The rain screen cladding has now been installed, and the glazing is now in place at the front of the building. These elements now give a much more finished look to the building.

Draining on the exterior of the site has now also been connected, which will help to reduce the amount of standing water around the building and support the external work.

The exterior of the building has seen much of the cladding installed and also some of the windows are now in place.

The most notable changes have taken place inside the building, as partition walls are now in place on both the ground floor and first floor. Visually this is where we will now start to see the layout of the building take shape.

The mechanical and electrical work has been taking place at the same time throughout the building, as ducting, pipework and electrics have been installed.

The mechanical and electrical work is a really pivotal part of the redevelopment. It is vital that this intricate work is completed to the highest standards to ensure the building functions efficiently.

Following from the last update, the concrete floor screed has been poured, the mechanical and electrical installation is well underway, and the tiling has begun in parts of this area.

As with other areas of the building, this is the vital, unseen work that must take place before the area can be finished properly.

Finally for this update, the bowling alley area has seen some major changes, with the concrete floor screed being poured, and the plastering has been completed.

While challenging weather conditions over the Christmas period briefly slowed work on the external cladding, additional teams are now on site to increase momentum and accelerate progress to ensure the works programme stays on track. 

The work on the internal elements of the project is well underway and has progressed in several major areas.

Underfloor heating has been installed, as well as floor screed. This has then allowed the team to begin installing the partition walls and the first fix mechanical and electric works.

On the first floor, the ducting for the swimming pool is progressing well. This ducting is now being connected to the new air handling units that have also been installed in the first-floor plant room.

The changing village is a particularly complex part of the redevelopment project. A huge amount of planning has taken place in this area, and lots of work has taken place ahead of the installation of pipework and electrical ducting.

Aside from this, the underfloor heating and screed have been installed, which will ensure the area drains effectively when the building reopens.

One of the areas with the most significant progress is the roof. The armour felt roof protection has been installed to provide the final level of waterproofing and protection for the roof.

Additionally, the air handling units and condensers are now all on site on the roof; these will deal with all the heating and cooling of the building once completed.

An essential part of the work at this stage is the drainage on site. As the wintery weather continues, it is vital to ensure that the drainage is connected so that the site isn't affected by standing water. Teams have been on site to connect the drainage on site with the existing sewers to ensure water is being discharged from the site.

Exterior cladding installation began at the end of November, at the rear of the building, on the exterior of the bowling hall. The installation is now continuing around the sports hall, and by Christmas time, two-thirds of the cladding will be completed.

The concrete slab and walls for the pool have recently been cast, meaning that a thorough soak test can take place. The soak test is to ensure that the pool is water tight before the pool is then rendered and tiled.

Above the swimming pool, work has been carried out to install a new Velux roof light running along the full length of the pool hall.

Additionally, a new ducting system has been installed, and the scaffolding is being removed, ready for work to be completed at ground level.
