What is the Joint Pain Advice Service?

This is a course of four one-to-one appointments over four months (one each month), face-to-face or over the telephone.

To discuss lifestyle, challenges and personal goals with tailored personalised action plans.

The aim is to support a change in health beliefs and behaviour and provide information about self-management and coping strategies to better manage symptoms and alter the course of your condition.

This is not a physical course.

You can self-refer on to this scheme if you:

  • are 40 years and older for those with hip and/or knee pain
  • 18 years and older for those with low back pain

With a:

  • Diagnosis of hip and/or knee osteoarthritis and/or
  • Non-specific low back pain or a history of hip, knee or back pain lasting three months or longer

If you are eligible, you can self-refer to the programme by emailing the HealthiER team.

If you need to call the HealthiER team, their office is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm.

Joint Pain Advice Service is free to eligible participants.
