This nationally recognised scheme offers a fresh and innovative swim programme across our nine sites with pools, appealing to learners of all ages from baby and preschool lessons through to platinum awards for advanced swimming, junior lifeguard courses, adult swimming and disability swimming. In addition to this, your child's’ development through the stages of the STA Learn to Swim Programme could lead to the opportunity for a career in swimming, such as becoming a lifeguard or even a swim teacher amongst many other career possibilities.
The programme is fun and exciting and encourages children and young people to progress through levels and achieve through their success tracker booklets - collecting colourful badges and certificates along the way.
The scheme takes children and young people on an engaging swim journey series including Starfish, Octopus, Goldfish, Angelfish and Shark Series to name a few.
With a range of different ability series, there is something for all ages. The Junior Lifeguard series offers fun aquatic and lifesaving awards incorporating distance awards and supporting awards (Diving, snorkelling, Sea scooter, personal survival skills, Competitive Starts and Turns)

We have two options for swimming lessons both are block bookings of 10 lessons over 10 weeks.
Junior: £55
Adult: £62
Both include free casual swimming for the duration of lessons.
Customers can opt for the easy payment plan direct debit scheme* which includes core badges from the ILSP (Core badges are shown above on the flow chart) or pay for a 10-week course up front (no badges included).

Every effort is made to place children in lessons within 10 weeks.
Children's names can be added to the waiting list for preschool lessons working through the Stanley awards from the age of 3 years, and the Octopus series once they are in full-time education if children have no prior swimming ability.
Children wishing to access any of the other stages are advised to contact the centre to arrange a pre-assessment.
