Swimming Lessons

Learn to swim with East Riding Leisure's STA Swim Academy

At East Riding Leisure we’re certified by the STA’s Swim Academy

This nationally recognised scheme offers a fresh and innovative swim programme across our nine sites with pools, appealing to learners of all ages from baby and preschool lessons through to platinum awards for advanced swimming, junior lifeguard courses, adult swimming and disability swimming. For information on disability sessions and lessons for those with additional needs or disabilities please contact your local East Riding Leisure centre swim coordinator who will be happy to discuss what is available.

Learning to swim is more than a life-saving skill.

It also helps:

  • build confidence
  • improves strength, coordination and flexibility
  • develop social and communication skills
  • maintain heart and lung health
  • increases stamina and improve posture

In addition to this, your child's’ development through the stages of the STA Learn to Swim Programme could lead to the opportunity for a career in swimming, such as becoming a lifeguard or even a swim teacher amongst many other career possibilities.

Fun ways to learn and progress
