Get involved 26 - 28 April 2024 MySwimathon: 19 April - 5 May 2024
What is Swimathon?
Swimathon organises challenges which raise crucial funds for their charity partners, Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
Take part in one of their swim challenges to help raise money for charity and support your local pools.
Swimathon is open to all, with challenges to suit swimmers of all ages, abilities and experience. Don't forget, under 16s go free.
Over 400 pools across the UK, including East Riding Leisure Beverley and Withernsea, have signed up to host a Swimathon session over the event weekend of Friday 26th - Sunday 28th April 2024.
If you can’t make the Swimathon weekend (26 – 28 April 2024), Beverley or Withernsea pools aren’t close enough to you, or if you just fancy a bit more flexibility for your Swimathon challenge, choose MySwimathon or MySwimathon Lite! These options allow you to swim any distance (one of the set challenges or make up your own), any time and at any East Riding Leisure pool of your choosing between Friday, 19 April and Sunday, 5 May 2024.
Learn more about how to #enjoywatersafely with these annual water safety campaigns run by RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society UK), the governing body of our lifeguards, and STA (Swimming Teacher's Association), the governing body of our swimming instructors.
Each campaign only lasts a week or so, but water safety is important all year round.
Learning to swim can be a daunting challenge for anyone, especially for young children. Whether your child is reigniting their love for swimming after numerous lockdowns, or they are challenging themselves to try something new, swimming is a great way to promote enjoyable exercise while also benefiting from a large range of health benefits.
